Cadiz, Inc., in an effort to acquire critical access to the Colorado
River Aqueduct, has placed an extreme emphasis on bombarding the Metropolitan Water Agency with
hundreds of letters supporting the company's project.
At last report, allegedly over 800 letters of support have been
sent to the MWA from businesses, chambers of commerce, consultants, engineers, labor organizations,
suppliers and others who could become short-term financial beneficiaries should the proposed project
become a reality.
Cadiz, Inc. president, Scott Slater, has also been making appearances at a
number of Southern California's water agencies attempting to influence a stronger foothold for
his company. Many of these agencies acquire water from the MWA and some have a member on
the MWA's board.
